Terms of service
Last updated: 22 October 2026
In plain English: DeskJoey helps service businesses manage enquiries, estimates and bookings. Early access is free. Your business remains responsible for its own services and customers.
1. Who operates DeskJoey
DeskJoey (formerly QuoteBrook) is operated by Ashley Paul Hurlow, trading as DeskJoey, a UK sole trader, not a limited company. Correspondence address: 157 Heol Gwyrosydd, Swansea, Wales, United Kingdom. Email: support@deskjoey.com. DeskJoey is a separate business from OnlyVans Ltd.
2. Who can use the service
DeskJoey is intended for businesses and the people they authorise to manage their accounts. By creating an account you confirm you are authorised to represent the business, that the details you provide are accurate, and that you will comply with applicable law. You are responsible for activity carried out through accounts you authorise.
3. Free early access and packages
DeskJoey currently offers a free early-access service. The Solo, Business and Growth packages currently permit up to 1, 5 and 15 bookable workers respectively; ordinary staff profiles need not have logins or be bookable. Limits and included features may be revised on reasonable notice. Online payment and paid subscriptions are not active. No payment card is requested and your free account will not become a paid subscription without your express agreement to new paid terms.
Any future prices shown on the website are illustrative unless explicitly offered through a functioning paid checkout. We will explain material changes before they apply.
4. Booking and quotation responsibilities
DeskJoey supplies scheduling and enquiry software. The business receiving a customer enquiry, not DeskJoey, provides the underlying service and is responsible for service descriptions, prices, appointment fulfilment, statutory rights, and handling cancellations and complaints. An estimate is not automatically a final quote; a request that requires business approval is not a confirmed appointment. Instant appointments are confirmed when the booking process says so.
5. Business account security and content
Keep your credentials confidential, protect invited staff access and promptly disable accounts that no longer need access. You must have the rights to upload branding, images and other materials. Do not submit malware, unlawful content or unnecessary sensitive personal information. Set accurate services, opening hours, buffer times and staff availability; review your dashboard for booking status changes.
6. Communications and integrations
DeskJoey uses transactional emails for account verification, invitations and booking notifications. Optional Google Calendar connections may synchronise appointments or busy time. Third-party delivery and synchronisation can experience delays; the dashboard is the source of record for DeskJoey bookings. Each optional provider may have its own terms and privacy notice.
7. Data handling
Our Privacy Notice describes how we use information for our own business purposes. When we process the end-customer booking data of a business using DeskJoey, that business usually acts as controller and DeskJoey as processor. The Data Processing Agreement forms part of these terms for such processing, and applies once a business accepts these terms and uses the service.
8. Availability, support and changes
Free early access is under active development and may contain errors or temporary outages. We will take reasonable care and skill in operating it but cannot promise uninterrupted availability or that every notification arrives instantly. We may improve features, apply security updates, or suspend access where necessary to protect customers or the service. For assistance contact support@deskjoey.com.
9. Closing an account
You can request account closure and a copy or deletion of business records by emailing support. We will handle your request in line with the Privacy Notice and the Data Processing Agreement, including any legal retention requirements and the treatment of backups. Export and deletion requests are currently handled through support, not self-service buttons.
10. Ownership and liability
We retain rights in the DeskJoey software and brand; you retain rights in the content you submit and grant us the rights reasonably needed to provide the service. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded, including for fraud, fraudulent misrepresentation or death or personal injury caused by negligence. Any limitation of liability will be interpreted subject to applicable law and the requirement of fairness and reasonableness.
11. Applicable law
These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales, subject to any mandatory rights that apply. We may update these terms with reasonable notice of material changes.
